Wrath of the Alvida

It was midnight, and the island of Faera Province was resting peacefully under the shining stars. Until a loud roar was heard.

Bryn was the first one up, running quickly as she headed towards the bell tower. She climbed it swiftly, and was successful in sounding it. As she was climbing down, she saw a giant thing lumbering towards her.

The other classes arrived just in time to see the bell tower toppled on the floor, broken in splinters. "Where's Bryn?" Taylor cried.

"Look! She's fighting the ... whatever it's called." Crystal yelled back.

"An Alvida. It's a type of water dragon thingy." Aden muttered.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go help Bryn!" Shiina said as she started running towards the large creature.

  1. Shiina quickly cast a spell and conjured her signature sword. The thin point gleamed in the starlight. "Bryn!" she called as she raced towards her fellow magician.

  2. Elyian hung back from the rest of the crowd. She had recognized the Alvida as soon as she saw it. She pulled an arrow from her quiver and strung it on her bow. But she saw that there was no way that she could get a clear shot from so low without hurting the people in the way.
    Elyian spotted a high, flat roof next to the bell tower. She grinned, then took off towards it. She vaulted and scaled her way onto the roof, where she took aim at the water dragon below her.

  3. (um. I'm an archer.)

    Bryn dodged a blow and shot a flaming arrow into the alvida's eye, and it roared and writhed in pain, effectively (and painfully) throwing everyone on it - including Bryn - off it.

    Fallera hissed and concentrated hard, and a glimmering ball of energy formed within her hand. She threw it at the alvida, hitting it in the chest.

    Aden narrowed his eyes. He ran forward, dodging and jumping, cutting the soft belly flesh of the alvida with a huge, glowing longsword.

  4. (I know, but there were people in the way, plus Elyian is a thief so she isn't as good with a bow as Bryn. And she likes to kind of "stay on the sidelines" and fight from there, hence the roof.)

    Elyian strung her bow, pointing the arrow at the Alvida's other eye. A black haired girl had already taken out one of the dragon's eyes with a well placed flaming arrow. If Elyian could make this shot, then the Alvida would be blind and would have to rely on smell and hearing to find it's prey.
    Elyian took aim, and fired. The arrow struck it's mark, and the Alvida roared in pain, stomping it's front feet on the ground. The impact was enough to knock several people on the ground off their feet, and Elyian struggled to keep her balance as the building shook with the force of the tremor.

  5. (I wasn't talking to u, i was talking to moonstar...)

    Aden stabbed the Alvida's stomach, and it roared as well. He smirked, but was knocked off his feet, to slam into Evette. "Oh, god, sorry!" He exclaimed, helping her up. "Are you okay?"

    Fallera had formed a forcefield over the group, making sure they wouldn't be shaken by the mini earthquake the Alvida was creating. It required a lot of concentration and energy, and sweat beaded on Fallera's forehead.

  6. (WHATS AN ALVIDA)

    Takayashi ran into the fighting zone and began to fight with his sword, slashing at the Alvida. Shiina stood next to him and fought as well, snarling with every cut she made on the fierce beast.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Fallera winced as the Alvida slashed at the forcefield, feeling the pain in her own body. She wiped her sweat away and continued strengthening the shield.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Shiina rushed over to Fallera and helped with her shield. "Are you OK?" she asked.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Fallera grunted, which seemed to be a yes. Bryn raced forward and leaped onto the Alvida's back, poisoned dagger in hand.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Taylor slashed her frost claws across the Alvida's flank, watching as Bryn dug the dagger into the monster's back, leaping off swiftly. She nodded to Bryn, glancing at the Alvida as it writhed in pain. Taylor closed her eyes, thinking of everything bad that had happened to her. She reopened them, eyes flaring like a fire. Taylor clawed the monster furiously, then pausing, breathing heavily.

  11. (still dont know what an alvida is.........)

    Shiina looked up at the other girl. "Should we help her?" she wondered out loud, noticing the small figure on top of the larger mass. Takayashi suddenly appeared next to the two magicians. He looked up and whistled quietly.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Bryn nodded back at Taylor, holding on to the thrashing monster. Fallera's face was pale with almost no energy left, and she knew that she wouldn't have much energy for much longer. "End... fight..." she said weakly to the others, her quiet voice barely audible.

  13. Shiina, noticing her friend, grabbed her arm and threw her up into the air, casting a strong force field around her. "Rest for now!" Shiina called, then turned to the rest. Takayashi looked at her strangely and looked at the other people. "What should we do?"

    ReplyDelete
  14. Fallera glared at Shiina. "I don't need help!" She growled, and forced herself out of the forcefield, making another of her own. Bryn looked down at Takayashi from atop the Alvida. "We should have archers attack from above, warriors and thieves attack from below, and magicians creating the major defense!" She called out her suggestion.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Shiina shivered slightly as her shield was broken, but nodded at Bryn's suggestion. Takayashi agreed as well. They looked around at the others for any comments.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Fallera didn't say anything but strengthened her forcefield, not thinking about the energy she was exerting.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Evette arrived, her mouth agape as she watched the lumbering monster. Her confused expression soon turned determined. She ran forward, dodging the fly of spells and the Alvida's blue fire.

    (it can breathe blue fire...)

  18. (Moonstar: An Alvida is a huge water dragon.)

    Elyian strung another arrow and launched it into the monster's mouth as it roared. The Alvida turned and released a jet of blue flame at her. She rolled sideways, but the blast scorched the roof beside her, as well as her right shoulder. She winced with the pain.

  19. (oh.)

    Shiina looked up and saw Elyian. She quickly cast a small barrier around the girl as another flame was shot at her.

    (wait water dragons can breathe fire????)

    ReplyDelete
  20. (sure. *blue* fire)

    Evette ran and leaped with all her might, scratching at the monster with her claws.

    ReplyDelete
  21. "Thanks," Elyian called down in the general direction of where her barrier had come from. She touched her shoulder. Her coat and shirt sleeve had been burned off by the Alvida's fire, and she could see that the skin underneath was a bright red.
    "Burns," Elyian said to herself. She'd be no use on the roof now that the Alvida had spotted her. She limped her way to the edge of the building and descended the ladder on the side.

  22. Shiina looked back at the alvida and noticed Takayashi padding up to it. She shadow-stepped forward and appeared next to him. They both slowly began to stalk up to the giant beast.

    (oh.)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Fallera was silent as she continued to strengthen the forcefield. The color in her black eyes was fading a little to gray.

    Bryn was thrown off the dragon, and a little while away she slammed into the barrier of the Province, and she slid down to the ground, a couple of bones broken. She steeled herself and forced herself forward.

    Aden tried to climb the dragon in place of Bryn, but the dragon tried to shake him off. He used the first thought that came to his mind: He took out his dirk and slammed it into the leg of the Alvida, using that arm to haul his way up as it roared in anger.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Shiina quickly procured and threw a giant shuriken at the alvida as it roared, right into its open mouth. Blood seeped out of the wound, but it wasn't enough to kill.

    Takayashi stepped forward and tried to help Aden with the dragon. He slashed, but the skin of the alvida's leg was to thick for his thick sword. He cursed and jumped up onto it's back, trying to look for a more vulnerable spot.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Aden climbed onto it, then went for its neck, prying off a few hard plated scales, finding the soft skin underneath. He raised his odachi, preparing to pierce the Alvida's neck.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Shiina looked up and quickly casted some small force fields over the vital spots of Aden's body. "Kill it," she prayed in her mind. Takayashi began to circle the dragon, looking for a spot to stab.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Aden narrowed his eyes in concentration, and Fallera watched him with expressionless eyes though inside she was screaming. Bryn gritted her teeth from the wall as she notched and aimed in case it didn't work. With a roar of his own, Aden plunged the odachi into the dragon's throat, and it poked through the other side. He pulled it to one side then to the other, slicing the head off completely. The alvida fell to the ground, the head falling with it. Unfortunately, Aden had not jumped away before it fell onto it, crushing him with the weight.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Elyian picked her way across the carnage in the streets. She arrived just in time to see Aden slice of the Alvida's head. The head fell, as if in slow motion, towards the boy. Elyian heard the thud as the head rested, and then she was streaking towards it.
    Over her shoulder, she called back to Shiina. "Hey, can you do a lifting spell or something?" She reached the head and pulled out a pouch of herbs from inside her jacket. Let's hope the magicians can get the head off, she thought. And it's not too late to save that warrior...

    ~Elyian

    ReplyDelete
  29. Fallera shut off her forcefield and had enough time to call out a weak lifting spell before she fainted, falling forward. Bryn dragged herself over to Aden. "Are you okay?"
    "... urgh....." Aden moaned, agony exploding through his head.

  30. Takayashi stood there. Shiina crouched down next to him and began to inspect him, finding out which bones were broken and which wounds were the worst. After a while, she quickly cast a healing spell on them and the wounds sealed up, the bones remerging slightly. She tore off some of her shirt and bound up his limbs with some planks that had fallen from the roof, making makeshift splints. "Careful," she muttered. "They're not completely healed."

    ReplyDelete
  31. Shiina stood up and winced, then fell down, barely conscious.

    ReplyDelete
  32. (Wait, did Shiina help Aden or Takayashi?)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Fallera and Shiina lay there. (LOL)

    Bryn slumped back, her broken bones and cuts suddenly unbearable.

    Aden nodded to Shiina, still wincing, before realizing she was unconscious.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Takayashi sat down and sighed. He himself had a number of cuts all over his body, but there was nothing serious. He looked around. Shiina stirred slightly. She opened one eye slightly. "Any-anyone else need healing?" she asked faintly, panting with each word. (O.O dog.)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Evette looked around. People were slumped on the ground, their clothes soaked in blood and dry blood clinging on to their skin. Evette frowned. "I came too late..."

    She spotted Takayashi sitting by himself. She went over to him. "Are you okay?"

    ReplyDelete
  36. Takayashi nodded slowly. "Nothing major," he said. He looked around at the other people. "But some people still need healing."

    ReplyDelete
  37. Aden dragged himself up from his position, wincing as he did so, and went over to his friend. "Hey, Takayashi." Bryn, though she was the most injured of all of them, shook her head alarmingly at Shiina. "No, stay where you are. Just... sleep or something."

    ReplyDelete
  38. Shiina glared in protest, but remained still. Takayashi nodded politely. "Are you OK?"

    (._.)

    ReplyDelete
  39. "No, no one is going to sleep," Elyian announced. "Why not?" someone in the crowd asked. "Because if you go to sleep and I see you lying there, I'm going to think you're dead. And that is not a pleasant feeling," Elyian responded.
    She pulled the herbs out of her pouch and stuffed a handful in her mouth. As she chewed, she unrolled a long, white strip of linen. She rubbed the herb paste onto Aden's arm, then wrapped the linen around it. She applied this mix to the warrior's most serious wounds, then moved on to Bryn.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Shiina sighed and sat there. "Where did the alvida come from?" she wondered out loud. "Does it means there might be more coming?"

    ReplyDelete
  41. Aden looked at his bandaged arm then looked up at Elyian. "Thanks," he smiled at her, then wincing as the herbs stung. Bryn shook her head and tried to push Elyian away. "No, help the others first. I'm okay." Still, she felt pain shoot through her every time she tried to move.
    Fallera had revived from her dead faint, a little bit of color returning to her eyes making them a pale gray. She shook her head slowly. "No. Alvidas are independent creatures that travel alone." She paused, breathing heavily to regain her energy before continuing. "And it was a male, so it won't have a child nearby."

    ReplyDelete
  42. "No, you're not," Elyian insisted, bandaging Bryn's wounds. "It's great that you're tough and all, but I've seen other wounded people insist that they're fine, they're fine, don't worry about me, and then they die." She gave Bryn a grim smile as she finished with her work.

    ~Elyian

    ReplyDelete
  43. Bryn glared. "I think I know whether I'm dying or not, thank you very much," she snapped. "Go help someone else." Aden looked over at them. "Hey, you don't have to argue over whether your dying or not," he told Bryn, only to receive a deadly glower that chilled him to the bone. "Okay, sorry."
    Fallera watched the exchange silently, waiting for her body to regain its energy. Her eyes were now a dark silver.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Shiina looked over at Fallera, her eyes slightly black. She tried to stand up and fell down on Takayashi. "Sorry," she muttered as she attempted to pick herself up, only to fall down again. Takayashi mumbled something under his breath and flopped her back against the wall.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Fallera ignored her fellow magician and continue to observed the others.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Crystal was slumped on the ground, her eyes half closed. She groaned.

    (...?)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Takayashi noticed Crystal's groan and quickly padded over to her. "Where are you wounds?" he asked urgently, ripping off a piece of his shirt to wrap around the wounds.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Crystal moaned. She weakly pointed her dirty finger at her side. There, a large bloody gash was adorning her figure.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Fallera looked up at Crystal, raising an eyebrow. She seemed to teleport over to the young thief, and was bending over her in a second. She pushed Takayashi aside with a surprisingly strong shove, and put a palm to Crystal's wound. Fallera's eyes narrowed with concentration, then she removed her hand. The deep cut was closed instantly. "Do not move the injury," she told her quietly. "It is not completely healed."

    ReplyDelete
  50. Shiina opened her eyes and sat up, looking at Fallera. She looked away and walked up to Takayashi. "Do you need healing? Your wounds aren't that deep but no one else needs healing...." Takayashi shook his head. "It's OK," he said. "I can manage."

    ReplyDelete
  51. Elyian got up from the cold ground, and nodded her head at Aden. "You're welcome," she said shortly, then looked around. Most of the wounded were being tended to. "Now, the next thing is to move everyone out of the open and into someplace warm," she announced. "Anyone have an idea?"

    ReplyDelete
  52. Shiina looked at the rest of the group. "Mystia wouldn't do..." she muttered. "To cold...and the port's too windy...."

    ReplyDelete
  53. Evette glanced at Shiina. "How about Elian? Koigokiri Village won't do since there are monsters there. We just need to come up with a way to get the injured there."

    (no transportation. or horses. so inconvenient xD)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Aden nodded at Evette. "Elian's good. There's shelter, food, and weapons. We'll let the stronger ones go ahead and clean out the empty huts and houses while the weaker ones take it slow, then have them ready for them. Of course, a warrior or two will have to take the non-warriors there. We also need to look for medicinal herbs and food." He glanced at everybody else, narrowing his eyes in thought. "We'll just heal everyone here until their able to walk, and we'll have to get to the Sanctuary on foot. It's about two miles away. Maybe a little more."

    ReplyDelete
  55. (LOL XD)

    Takayashi nodded and looked around to see if there was anyone who needed help.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Crystal was tearing. "I-It hurts"

    ~~~
    Evette looked at Aden. "That's a good idea. Okay. Hey, wanna go to get some medicinal herbs with me?"
    ReplyDelete
  57. Shiina saw Crystal and quickly stumbled over. "Didn't Fallera heal you just now? You need to be more careful." She put up her hand onto the other girl's wound and a black light glowed from it temporarily stopping the pain. "Don't move," Shiina ordered, and sat herself next to Crystal in case anything else happened.
    ReplyDelete
  58. Taylor stood in the back, looking at the lifeless alvida, alone in her thoughts.
    - Taylor -
    ReplyDelete
  59. Aden smiled charmingly at Evette. "Thought you'd never ask," he grinned at her.
    Bryn looked over at Taylor. "What're you thinking about?" She asked, curious.
    ReplyDelete
  60. Evette smiled. "Well, what are we waiting for?"
    ~
    Crystal remained motionless on the ground, staring up at Shiina's determined eyes.
    ReplyDelete
  61. Shiina sensed eyes on her and looked down. "What are you doing?"
    ReplyDelete
  62. Aden grabbed her hand and made his way quickly to the front of the crowd. "Okay, people. Stay where you are, Evette and I are going to get some healing herbs." He looked down at Evette. "Should we go to the forest?"
    ReplyDelete
  63. Crystal pouted. "I don't know! I'm so bored..." she whined.
    "Yea...that's where most of the herbs can be found." Evette stared back up at his glowing eyes.
    ReplyDelete
  64. (woah, that sounds scary. lol xD)
    Aden smiled at her dark blue eyes. "Shall we, milady?" He extended a hand towards her courteously, faking a sophisticated accent playfully.
    ReplyDelete
  65. Shiina rolled her eyes and looked away. Takayashi sat there, unsure if he should do anything or not.
    ReplyDelete
  66. Fallera glared at Crystal. "Shut up, stop complaining, and suck it up," she snapped at the young thief.
    ReplyDelete
  67. Crystal's eyes grew watery. "Meanie-butt!"
    Evette laughed softly. "Why we shall." she took his hand and grasped it gently.
    ReplyDelete
  68. Fallera glared at Crystal again, but there was a twitch at the ends of her lips. "Meanie-butt? Seriously? You'd better come up with better names for me or I'll never take you seriously."
    Aden grinned at Evette and lead her into the depths of the dark forest. "Then I beg you come with me, lady," he whispered into her ear, smiling.
    (can you make a forest page? If not it's okay...)
    ReplyDelete
  69. (ok. don't worry. I'll make one.)
    Crystal pouted. "Whatever."
    ReplyDelete
  70. (ok. comment there next?)
    Fallera rolled her eyes and turned away.
